The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), under the Department of Agriculture – Philippines, is joining #Agrilink2026 as one of the event’s institutional partners. 
This year’s theme, “Agri Food Hub Facilities: A Boost to Efficiency in the Value and Market Chains,” highlights the need for stronger systems that can help agricultural goods move from production areas to markets with more value intact.
Agri food hubs need more than facilities. They also need trained farmers, fisherfolk, agricultural extension workers, and rural organizations that can manage production, postharvest handling, processing, enterprise development, digital tools, and market linkages more effectively.
As the capacity builder, knowledge bank, and catalyst of the Philippine agriculture and fisheries extension system, ATI helps bring knowledge, skills, and technologies closer to farming and fishing communities. Its programs support learning across the food value chain, from commodity-based technologies, leadership, project management, and digital agriculture to agri-entrepreneurship.
ATI’s work also connects closely with value chain efficiency through programs and trainings that strengthen both farm-level skills and group readiness. Agro-enterprise clustering and rice cluster development planning help farmer groups organize supply, coordinate production, and prepare for stronger market linkages. ATI’s Farm Business School supports farmers in treating farming as an enterprise, with greater attention to costs, pricing, records, buyer requirements, and income opportunities.
ATI also supports the postharvest side of the chain through trainings on value-adding and the technical management of shared processing facilities. These are important for agri food hubs, where products need to be properly handled, processed, stored, consolidated, and prepared for market. Through e-Extension and the Digital Farmers Program, ATI further expands access to technical knowledge and digital tools that can help farmers, fisherfolk, and extension workers make better-informed decisions.
Together, these initiatives help build the people, organizations, and capabilities needed to make agri-food hubs, market systems, and shared facilities work better.
