Efficient value chains are measured not only by how products move, but by how well they reach consumers. 
This is another important idea behind #Agrilink2026’s theme, “Agri Food Hub Facilities: A Boost to Efficiency in the Value and Market Chains.”
The Benteng Bigas, Meron Na! or P20 Rice Project, through KADIWA, the Department of Agriculture – Philippines, and DA Agribusiness, Marketing and Consumer Affairs, shows how stronger value and market chains can support both consumers and producers. As of April 7, 2026, the initiative had served 6.45 million beneficiaries, including senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities, 4Ps beneficiaries, public utility drivers, minimum wage earners, teachers, and other priority sectors.
According to the DA, around 2.9 million rice farmers are registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), making them also eligible for selected government support programs.
Reaching people at this scale depends on coordinated procurement, storage, logistics, distribution, and market channels. These systems help make affordable rice more accessible to Filipino households while creating additional market opportunities for local producers.
At #Agrilink2026, the international agribusiness exhibit will highlight the technologies, facilities, organizations, and partnerships that help agricultural products move efficiently from production areas to markets and consumers.
