Stronger value chains do not end at the farm gate. They reach communities through stronger market networks. ![]()

This is another important idea behind #Agrilink2026’s theme, “Agri Food Hub Facilities: A Boost to Efficiency in the Value and Market Chains.”
The KADIWA program, through the Department of Agriculture – Philippines ans DA Agribusiness, Marketing and Consumer Affairs, demonstrates how expanding market access can strengthen the connection between producers and consumers. By providing more direct channels for agricultural products, KADIWA helps improve access to affordable food while creating more market opportunities for local farmers and fisherfolk.
This growing network also supports the expansion of the “Benteng Bigas, Meron Na!” program. During its initial expansion, the initiative was projected to benefit around 780,000 households, or approximately 3.2 million Filipinos. By the end of 2026, the Department of Agriculture aims to expand its reach to 15 million households, equivalent to around 60 million Filipinos.
Supporting this effort is the government’s plan to expand the KADIWA network to 3,000 stores by 2028, bringing affordable food closer to more communities while strengthening the country’s value and market chains.
At #Agrilink2026, the international agribusiness exhibit will showcase the technologies, facilities, organizations, and partnerships that help strengthen every stage of the value and market chains, from production and logistics to market access and distribution.
