Growing food is only half the challenge. Reaching the market is the other half. ![]()
This is another key idea behind #Agrilink2026‘s theme, “Agri Food Hub Facilities: A Boost to Efficiency in the Value and Market Chains.”
The KADIWA ng Pangulo program, led by the Department of Agriculture – Philippines and DA Agribusiness, Marketing and Consumer Affairs, recognizes that strengthening agriculture goes beyond increasing production. One of its key objectives is to establish and sustain additional markets for small farmers, fisherfolk, and local enterprises, creating more opportunities to bring their products directly to consumers.
Agricultural products create greater value when they can move efficiently through the value chain and reach the right markets. Improving market access not only opens new opportunities for producers but also contributes to more sustainable livelihoods and a more resilient food system.
This is where agri food hubs play an important role. By strengthening storage, logistics, processing, and market linkages, these facilities help ensure that agricultural products move more efficiently from producers to buyers, maximizing the value of every harvest.
