The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PHilMech) is joining #Agrilink2026 as one of the trade exhibition’s institutional partners! 🌾⚙️

A harvest only reaches its full value when it is properly handled, dried, milled, processed, stored, and prepared for market. This is where postharvest systems become critical.

As the Department of Agriculture – Philippines’ lead agency for postharvest development and farm mechanization, PHilMech helps develop, extend, and promote technologies and systems that support farmers, fisherfolk, cooperatives, and agribusinesses across the chain.

PHilMech’s work is closely tied to the facilities and technologies that agri food hubs need to function well. For example, through the RCEF Mechanization Program, PHilMech helps farmers’ cooperatives and associations access machinery that can support more efficient field operations, lower production costs, and reduce postharvest losses. Its programs also aim to address the need for accessible drying and milling facilities, giving farmers more ways to preserve palay quality and capture better value after harvest.

PHilMech also supports capability building through trainings on mechanization and postharvest technologies, including drying and milling, as well as technical training for local manufacturers involved in agricultural machinery production. Its continuing work on coconut processing centers further reinforces the role of shared facilities in helping producers move from raw materials to higher-value products.

Through shared processing facilities under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan, PHilMech helps coconut farmers and cooperatives process raw materials into products such as virgin coconut oil, coco sugar, white copra, coconut water, coco peat, coir, and geonets. This is especially important for agri food hubs, where products need to be properly processed, stored, consolidated, and prepared for market.

Together, these initiatives help strengthen the postharvest and processing backbone of the value chain. From mechanization, drying, milling, and value-adding to shared facilities, PHilMech’s work supports the systems that help agricultural goods move from farm output to market-ready products.

Join us from October 8 to 10 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City for free seminars and free entrance to the exhibition. Learn more about PHilMech at https://www.philmech.gov.ph/.
