That’s the goal behind the PhP3-billion investment of the Department of Agriculture – Philippines in building hybrid-powered cold storage facilities across the country. Per the DA’s plan, these new sites will help keep vegetables and high-value crops fresher and longer, reducing waste and opening up more market opportunities. Where does #logistics figure into this? 
Cold storage is a critical link in the logistics chain. It gives farmers more flexibility in timing their sales, prevents post-harvest losses, and allows traders to move goods more efficiently over longer distances. By keeping produce in top condition for longer, cold storage helps ensure that what’s harvested gets sold — and sold at better value — for both producers and consumers.
